Post-it Blog Hop

Welcome to Thankful Thursday and the Post-it Blog Hop! If you've come from visiting Jenny at CrazyAboutCricut.blogspot.com, you're in the right place!

If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our fun hop, you can go to Crazy About Cricut and start at the beginning.

The theme of this blog hop is Post-it Craft Paper. Each blog has created a project centered around this awsome paper. Be sure to visit each blog for inspiration and fun BLOG CANDY.

For this blog hop, my six year old and I (but he did the majority of the work) made a door hanger for his room. This is a fun craft for kids to do with some adult supervision.

Here are the supplies we used for this project:
Crop a Dile Corner Chomper (we used the 1/2" side)
Square coasters (we got ours from Michaels, 8 for .50c)

We trimmed down the Lime and Lucky colored post-it paper to 4"x4" and rounded the corners. My son, Owen (Owie for short) placed all the pieces onto the coasters himself.  Can I just tell you now, how much I like re-positionable adhesive paper!! :) Owie wanted to alternate the colors of the background coasters.

Here he is punching the coasters with my Zutter Bind-it-all.  I held the coasters in place while he punched the holes.   We punched both ends of four of the coasters and one end on two coasters. Check out his face... he was working very hard for this craft! :) Then we binded the coasters together to make a line of them (see the pictures below for more info).

We designed his name together on my Gypsy.  He chose Nate's ABC's for the font (and shadow).  He used Butter Post-it paper for the letters and Evergreen for the shadows. We sized his letters to 3 3/4"

Here you can see how we binded the coaster in a line.  Owie added his name to the squares.  He wanted to add them all "wacky" (as he said) so he placed them at angles. :) We punched holes on each end to hang the banner (I used my Crop-a-Dile and set white eyelets).

Doesn't it look so cute!! :)

Here is his completed door banner!! He's so proud of it, we had to mount it right away!!

Please don't forget to comment for a chance to win my blog candy!!
I'll be awarding TWO WINNERS (to be randomly drawn on Monday April 4th, 2011) with a 6" x 6" sample pack (one sheet of each of the 24 colors that Post-it craft paper makes.)

I hope you enjoyed my project!  Now head on over to Christel at http://onescrappinsista.blogspot.com/  to see her amazing project!
