Superdad!!

Hi Everybody! Today is Thankful Thursday over at CrazyAboutCricut, and I am a very proud member of the Design Team. The challenge this week was to make something with the word "Dad" , "man" or "boy".  Here is the project that I made with my six year old son:

Owen is very proud of this card!! He got to cut it with my Cricut using my Gypsy. Below are pictures of him hard at work!!

Here he is with the Gypsy... he was very careful when setting up the paper on the Cricut mat. We used the Superman Cricut Cartridge to make this card.  The base was sized to 5 1/2" which made the width 4" so it's fits into an A2 envelope.

After we cut the card shapes and layers, I helped him set up the "Superdad" on the computer (using Photoshop) so we could print onto the red card layer.  First we printed onto plain white 20 lb. paper, then we attached the pre-cut superman layer to our paper using ATG tape.  Then we ran it back through the printer! Really, it sounds harder than it is! :)

After all the layers were ready, Owen used Scotch Quick Dry glue and my ATG glue runner to assemble the card.

Look how proud he is!! :)

We used a black Sharpie marker to add some "manly" doodling to the red layer.

Owen picked the font for the sentiment.  This is Star Jedi font at 20 points.  Then we used Photoshop to warp the text into the flag shape to follow the lines of the red layer and to fit inside the Superman "S".

The inside of the card got some matching layers and more Sharpie doodling too.

We have an awesome prize this month, it's a Post-it prize pack!!

Don't forget to head over to Crazy About Cricut, and enter your family project and to see the awesome inspiration projects from the other DT members!
