First, I'd like to say, I don't usually tackle sketch challenges. I don't know why they are so hard for me, but they are and I never really like how my card turns out.
This card uses Sweet Treats for the cupcake (cut at 2"). The diamond in the center of the card measures 3"x 3" (brown layer) and 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" for the yellow layer - it's actually the reverse of the glittery flowery paper.
The little cupcake is mounted up on pop dots, the flowers are mounted up on pop dots and so it the diamond in the center. I embossed the cupcake top with the D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder. The little stack of flowers on the cupcake are fussy cut from the card stock.
The stamped sentiment is two stamps from Scrappy Mom's Stamps.
These three brads started out as blue denim fabric covered brads, to color them I colored them with a brown marker.... the color matches the brown card stock much better in person.
I love the glitter and gossy texture of this card stock. I grabbed it from the open stock paper at Craft Warehouse and knew I wanted it to use it on a project like this. :)
Challenge :
judging by the beauty of this card I think you should do more sketch challenges this is perfect the brown background paper makes all your other elements pop, the embossing on the cupcake is a great accent...

What a deliciously sweet cupcake card!! and what a great job you did with the stamping - I know how difficult it is to have a good crisp image on glitter paper. Thanks for sharing this with us at Tuesday Throwdown.
ReplyDeleteI understand about the sketches but have decided to make myself do some for the experience. Thanks for your help with the challenge list. I've looked most of them over and picked a few to try.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say I think you did a great job on the sketch challenge. But then you always do a good job. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the sketch challenge. I tend to stay away from sketch challenges and then color challenges are not so easy for me either but have been trying to challenge myself by doing one every once in awhile.

ReplyDeleteI know you don't like sketches, but you ALWAYS do a great job with them. Keep doing them and they will seem easier. I am going to try this one if I can squeeze in some time.
