I am so happy to present you my very first mini!! I am not a scrapper, but when I saw a video that Dawn Griffith (Dawn5377 on You Tube) made, I couldn't resist.
The pink card stock is Bazzill, all other paper is from DCWV's Garden Stack. The album takes only one piece of card stock for the album cover and assorted pieces for the pages. It also takes 5 A2 envelopes for the pockets inside.
The album opens like a tri-fold. I fussy cut all the butterflies from the patterned paper. I love the touch of glitter. I added some lace here and there. Like I said, this is my first mini and I really think I have room to improve, but I still love this project.
Here it is opened up all the way. See, three pages measuring 6" x 6"... love it.
This is the left page. I added gel pen stitches to all the page mats.
The middle page is where the envelopes were attached to create pockets. I cut the tags using From my Kitchen... more info in a little bit! :)
The third page is nearly the same as the first.
Here are the tags I created. I used From My Kitchen and used the recipe card feature. I picked the rounded tabs, but FMK has many choices. I sized them to 5 1/2" wide and 4 3/4" tall. I cut matching paper for both sides of the inserts. One more butterfly finished off the pink one.
On the front of the mini, I attached the bodies of the butterflies with glue but rolled some foam tape to put under the wings to add dimension. I also put some glitter glue down the bodies of the butterflies.
Here is a link to Dawn's mini tutorial on You Tube... you won't want to miss this one! :)
