Personalized Teacher Frames

 For day two, I'd like to share a relativity quick project.  They are so personal and unique. How special would it be to present one of these to your favorite teacher?

It has the teacher's name in the middle, cut in black vinyl using Plantin Schoolbook (the size varies depending on the length of the name, this one is just over 3 1/2").  I cut it with my Gypsy so I could get it as large as possible.

The white vinyl is Simply Sweet font cut at (I think) 3/4".  It reads:

"To teach a child is to touch a future."

The frame is one I picked up at a local craft store called "Craft Warehouse." I know this is just a regional store (in just the North West USA I think).  The frame is black and is distressed and includes the fixed glass inside.

Instead of using the transfer tape that Provo Craft sells, I just used some clear shelf paper (I bought a big roll for $2 at Big Lots). It works just as well and it WAY cheaper.

    I am a new follower. Where the heck have I been right? ;) I used to be a professional sign maker and I've never thought of using the shelf paper as a transfer tape! That's awesome! I can hardly bear to buy vinyl and transfer tape at retail costs when I used to get 50 yards for around $44.00 for vinyl!!! I've had a hard time adjusting! LOL Great project. Super nice for the teacher. :0)

    This is such a CUTE idea!! I just bought a roll of white contact paper to try cutting with. Just like you said, I heard it works and is way cheaper. Did you still have to use Cricut transfer tape to apply the vinyl, or do you have a cool trick for that too?!?! Thanks for sharing all the info!!
