Happy Birthday Banner Card

Today marks the start of another challenge over at Die Cuttin' Divas.
This week the challenge is:

I've been on a roll with the long cards!! Here is yet another card that fits into the standard business envelope (9" x 4" card base).  I love them because while they are larger than the A2, the envelopes are easy to find and don't require any extra postage! :)

Here is a fun card I made today.  The background paper is from DCWV's party stack.  This was a perfect project for using scraps... every layer except the base came from my scrap bin! :)

I printed the "Wishing you a very" and "birthday!" on white cardstock using Donto font at 30 pts. I cut them out and used a square punch to add the decorative edge. The little pennants are cut from Country life at 1 1/2" and I made a shadow for them too.  The lettering is from a stamp set I just found on clearance at Craft Warehouse.  It's called Hand Drawn ABCs by Printworks.

I strung the pennants together with some black thread, mounted them on pop-dots and traced the letters with Black Diamond Stickles.

I added some gel pen doodles to the black mat behind the background layer. Star Dust Stickles applied  to the birthday sentiment ties together the glitter in the background and on the pennants.

We'd love for you to stop by Die Cuttin' Divas and enter the challenge!

The sponsor this week is Dana from "Imagine What you Could Do".

  8. I sure do like these long cards that you make. I always forget about that size. I am going to pull out this cartridge and check out the banner. I have overlooked it, but it is perfect for any occasion.

Hope all is going well. Seems like you have been super busy.
