Kids Craft Blog Hop

Welcome to the Kids Can Craft blog hop.

If you arrived here from Annette @ www.annetteasalinas.blogspot.com, you are in the right spot.  If you just happened upon my blog today, you are in luck!! Please head back to Jen's blog so you won't miss a single project!

In case you haven't noticed... the hop today is all about kids!! My kiddos love to craft with me and I think this blog hop was a wonderful idea (Thanks Jen).

Both of my boys have a project to share today. Sorry that this post is a little photo heavy but it's totally worth it!

First up is my 6 year old, Owen. He wanted to make a set of six "thank you" note cards. He chose 3"x3" cards made out of craft card stock.  All the cards have a little white twine too.

Owen made a total of six note cards.
Owen's personalized stamp.
He cut the pencil from Simply Charmed and assembled them and we worked together to print the notebook paper and added the "thank you" sentiment on my computer. The font is Peas Bhea Script (18 pt I think). These were cut at 2 3/4" x 2 3/4".

Here is the little gift bag he made.
We used craft card stock here too.
He made a little gift bag with Plantin Schoolbook to put the note card set in.  He is going to give them to Ms. Corrina, our PTA president! :)

What a silly little boy! :)
Second up is Bryce, my 8 year old.  He wanted to make a pop up card similar to the one I made and shared last week.  Bryce is a major Mario Fanatic!! So it was easy for him to pick Mario as the subject of his card.

We printed all the graphics from a Google search.  I used Photoshop to size the images for the project. The front is two layers... one back ground (with black mat) and the close up of Mario is fussy cut and attached with pop dots.

The inside features the pop up Mario and a Life Mushroom in the spine. We cut out doubles of both Mario and the mushroom so we could attach them to both sides of the pop up. The message portion of the card matches the background of the front of the card (complete with black mat) but I've added a little white box in PS so there is a place to write a message.

Inside: view one
Inside: view two
Inside: view three (this is the back of the pop up center)
Bryce needed a little more help with the assembly of his card, but he loves it and that totally makes it worth it!

Bryce's personalized stamp

Ha... his black eye is from running into the goal post
while playing Soccer... he gets his grace from his Dad! :)
These are the stamps I bought for my kiddos.  They love having a stamp for the back of their projects like I do.  I think they were around $6... which is super cheap for a personalized stamp.

  39. My name is Dakoda, I'm 3. The card is like Andrew's game. **Translation - My uncle Andrew loves to play Mario games; it reminds me of the games that he plays.**

My name is Taylor, I'm 5. I like the pencil cards and the purse (sorry, anything that holds something else is considered a purse). :)

Mom - You boys did an AMAZING job!!!!! I think I need to make some of those Thank You cards with the holder for Taylor's Teacher (although the PTSA president is a good idea too). The Mario card is AMAZING!!! You did such an amazing job!!! Great job guys!!!!!!! I love the personalized stamps too (I may need to look into those). :)

  48. Those are awesome cards. I didn't do any crafts like this when my kids were little. However I do have friends with little ones and I know that they would love to craft. As military wives you learn to band together and help each other out. This is what I plan to do is have crafting days at my house. Gives mommy's a little break. Can't wait to see more.
