I had a hard time with this project. I had a hard time creating a project to honor 9-11 without making it cheesy, too cartoony, etc. I think it turned out nice, but I'd love to hear what you think.
All cuts are from Plantin Schoolbook. The cityscape is sized to 5 1/2" wide, the white oval layer is 3 3/4" x 5", the black oval layer is 4" x 5 1/4" and the red oval layer is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I welded the card base using a couple of ovals I grabbed from PS too.
I sponged the clouds using some blue ink and a die cut cloud. Then I placed the flag in place and attached the cityscape on top of that. Trimming the edges created a nice clean look for the line of buildings.
To create this flag, I attached 1 1/4" of the red patterned paper to the bottom of the white oval (scraps from DCWV's summer stack) and placed the blue triangle next. I cut some white strips to 1/4" and glued them on individually, using an extra 1/4" strip for spacing. The little silver stars are glued to the blue section last. These little stars are so cute but TINY... they are from a nail art kit I've had forever.
Here you can see the sparkle on the little stars.
The card base is a oval shaped card. I love shaped cards and go on spurts where I make nothing other than shaped cards! :)
Here is the inside sentiment, I used "Script 33" and curved the text to match the shape of the card.

Cheryl, I think you did an excellent job!! The card is very appropriate, and certainly not cheesy or cartoony. And the curve on the text is just terrific. A++!--Pat
