Fabulous Fall Blog Hop: Day 1

I want to say "Thank you" to everyone coming to hop with us!! Every wonderful and talented lady sharing with us for the hop is thankful for your visit!!

Please remember to leave comments for the chance to win blog candy at the end of this three day hop!

I'll be having 7 prize packages to award on Monday, November 8th, 2010.

1. Goody bag #1 including fall themed card making supplies
2. Goody bag #2 including fall themed card making supplies
(donated by Sarah, Thanks so much!!)
(donated by Cri-kits, Thanks so much!!)
5. A wonderful fall related paper & embellishment bundle.
(donated by Oh My Crafts!, Thanks so much!!)
6. My Pink Stampers Cricut Fun Volume 2 DVD
(donated by Robyn at My Pink Stamper, Thanks so much!!)
7. My Pink Stamper Winter Punnies Stamp Set.
(donated by Robyn at My Pink Stamper, Thanks so much!!)

On to the first Project.

This one is centered on family thankfulness!  It is a "we are thankful" jar.

The supplies I used include:
A fall paper pack from Oriental Trading Company.
Doodlecharms cartridge (for the leaves)
Just Because Cards (for the sentiment frame)
My computer and printer for the sentiment
A recycled mini paint can - you can find them at the craft stores too.
A white gel pen

For this jar to work perfectly, I add LOTS of blank leaves (BO feature on Doodlecharms) and my kids, my husband, and I add the things we are thankful for.  We each fill out a leaf and add it to the "thankful jar".  I like my kids to add at least one leaf a week.  Ususally they add two to three leaves a week.

On Thanksgiving, we'll pull out one leaf at a time and read all the things we are thankful for. Sometimes they are "my toys", "my wii games" etc. but more often than not, they are things like "my friends" , "my teachers" and "my family".

Okay, that's my project for the first day of the blog hop.  Please hop along to the next stop to see what Jen has up her wonderfully crafty sleeves:

Here are the lineup of all fabulous ladies that will be sharing their talent:

Cheryl @ Cards by CG (That's me)

Jen @ Purple scrapbooker

Georgiana @ Carson's Cricut Creations

Star @ Stars Paper Passion

Yvette @ The Little Things

Celeste @ C.C's Cards and Crafts

Be sure to leave a comment to be entered to win some prizes and come back tomorrow for more fun and wonderful projects!

What a wonderful way to share the things you are thankful for. Thanksgiving is so often "passed over" as we move from Halloween to the Christmas season. This project is such a great way to enjoy that thankful spirit all month long! :-)

I love this idea! At work we have a thanksgiving tree we put up. We own a Christian bookstore. A Christmas tree that customers can hang paper leaves/acorns/pinecones on with what they are thank ful for on the papers. I need to cut more out with my cricut. All our customers love doing this... It is such a joy to read some of them everyday!

I'm not sure how I missed this post on Day 1 of the blog hop, but I'm sure glad I spotted it this time around. What an awesome project!! My Granddaughter is here this week and she loves playing with the Cricut. We're definitely going to make a Thankful Can tomorrow and spend the entire week putting our leaves into it, so we can read them on Thanksgiving Day (when she will also be here with us for dinner). :D

Thanks so much for sharing this project and all your other wonderful ideas! So glad I found this blog and will be dropping by regularly.
