I'm a guest designer!

Hello to everyone!! :)

I am so proud to be a guest designer over at

Georgiana and I have been blogging buddies since July (I think) when she asked me to participate in my FIRST EVER blog hop!! I was so honored and have enjoyed crafting with her ever since!!

For my guest designer project, I made a card for one of my 8 year-olds classmates.  First of all, you should know that my sons are very crafty and my 8 year-old insists on honoring each of his classmates with a birthday card!! :)

This one is for a boy named Yanis.

The card body is made out of transparency, cut to 4 1/4" x 11" and folded in half.  The cuts are all from Create a Critter.  The dinosaur is cut at 2 1/2" and the volcano is cut at 3".  I attached the dinosaur to the front after I added the green card stock.   I cut the green card stock to 4" x 4" and then ripped the top off to expose the white core and make it look like the ground.

The green background on the inside was also cut to 4" x 4" and I ripped it again.  I attached it to the inside of the card and then added the volcano.  Can you see how that leaves space for the message that will be hidden by the "ground" on the front?

Lastly, I added some off white twine to the top fold of the card, stamped the front with the "Happy Birthday 2U" sentiment from Stampendous and stuck on some faux eyelets I snagged on clearance at Joann's. Finally, I drew on some white stitching with my Gelly Roll white gel pen. I tend to go overboard with my gel pen, let me know what you think! :)

Thanks to Georgiana for having me as her guest designer today. I really appreciate it! :)

Thanks so much for visiting me here at CardsbyCG.blogspot.com.  I'd love to hear what you think.  Feel free to become a follower or sign up for my email updates (provided through FeedBurner).  I'd love to share my crafting journey with you! - Cheryl
