It's been a little while since I made these cards. I just came across the pictures so I thought I'd share them.
I created this card set for my Mother-in-Laws birthday in October. My MIL is deaf and loves anything that features the "ILY" or "I Love You" sign and I came across this Stampin' Up stamp set called "I LoveYou" at a re-sale event this summer and I knew they'd be perfect. :)
These little bottom opening note cards are 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" and the base is Kraft card stock. The layers measure 4" x 4" (black), 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" (dark red) and 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" (white). I've also included these little red hearts (1/2" from Plantin Schoolbook) accented with three layers of Glossy Accents. I stamped the ILY hand using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
I used a Scrappy Mom sentiment stamp on the inside and added another adorable heart. The watermarked stamps in the background were created using Dazzle Versamark ink. No heat embossing required, just stamp and let it dry. I love the look on the Kraft colored card stock too.
I went ahead and added another ILY stamp to the matching envelopes too. I packaged up 20 of these in a matching box. My MIL loved them!
Here is an image of the stamp set. Like I said I picked it up at a resale event (for $2) so I don't know exactly how old they are or if they are still available.
A little about my love story: A friend of mine from work introduced my
husband and I. My friend had no idea that I took extensive
sign language classes in High School or that my husband's parents
were deaf... I guess it was just meant to be.
And being the only Daughter-in-Law that can sign,
of course I am the favorite. Can you say "bonus points"? :)

Very cool idea. Love it. She will love it.
Beautiful card, Cheryl...and I love the story...God puts us together...and prepares us ahead of time, doesn't he?
I love these!! Wonderful job. I'm sure your MIL loved them!
Beautiful cards!! I've never seen this stamp before. I wish it was still available!! My daughter works in the deaf community (she works for the Abused Deaf Women's Advocacy Services in Seattle) and they are a non-profit...so they're always doing various fund raising events. I made a HUGE scrap basket for them to auction off last month, and put a set of cards inside. This stamp would have been PERFECT for the cards!! I just recently found some ILY sign brads at Eyelet Outlet that are totally cute! I think they'll be going on my set of cards for next year's auction!
It's so awesome that you're able to communicate with your MIL. I bet you'e learned A LOT more since you've been in their family too! And I'm sure being married to a CODA helps since you can practice all you want!
