Santa in July??

Today marks the start of another Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge!!
This weeks theme is

Today I used an older cartridge. I just LOVE Doodlecharms and grabbed it right away when I received this challenge! I just love this Santa. He sits on an A2 (5 1/2" x 4 1/4") Z-fold card. Santa is cut to 4" (along with his coordinating layers) and I cut an additional shadow layer.

Here's why.... I use the additional shadow layer to position my inside sentiments so it won't show when the card is closed. The background paper is from an old Christmas pack in my stash. I also added a strip of red stitched gros grain ribbon along the side and three buttons to finish off the right side.

I used my white gel pen (I know, I can't resist) to add stitches along Santa's shadow layer and add shine to his eyes.

See how great this little card can sit on it's own. I just LOVE Z-fold cards.

We'd love for you to come on over and play along with us at Die Cuttin' Divas!

Dear Cheryl,

I love this Santa z-fold card - so fun and I love the cute way you use the extra shadow layer for the sentiment - what a great idea!

You also have inspired me to start making Christmas cards - I think I'll designate one day a week for making a Christmas card!

Sincerely,

Janette S.
