My 6 month old nephew, Connor, is getting baptized this weekend, so I made this card to give my sister and her hubby (and Connor).
I cut the card base to 5 1/2" x 11" out of scrap DCWV metallic blue paper. I cut the bible cut from Inspired Heart Lite cart (I grabbed this on clearance for $12.50 at Walmart). This cut measures 4 3/4" and I layered it with some dark blue card stock.
I didn't have a sentiment that was perfect for the front so I made my own using Photoshop and Edwardian Script. I print the sentiment on computer paper first, then attach the pre-cut die cut to the paper with some ATG tape and then put the paper back through the printer to get the sentiment directly on the die cut.
Sorry about the glare, but I used silver mirror paper for the cross on the bible and bookmark. I added the date of the baptism to the bottom left corner of the bible. I inked the edges of the bible before attaching it to the card front with pop dots. I filled in the border around the bible cut with some blue Studio G glitter glue.
I added a couple of mats to the inside and finished it off with a Scrappy Moms Stamp. I added blue glitter gel pen stitches on the front and inside to give it a little more character! :)

What a pretty card! The sentiment is perfect for a baptism. It's wonderful that you included the date as well and the cross is a beautiful touch. Great job!

This is such a beautiful card Cheryl! I love how you did the Bible (and I'm a little jealous that you got that cart for $12.50)! I'm sure they are going to love this card! Thanks for sharing it with us at My Craft Spot!
