Nicolette's Birthday Bash Blog Hop: Day 2

If you came from Nicolette's blog, you are in the right place.  If you just came across this hop and would like to start from the beginning, please go back to Nicolette's blog.

With a theme of birthday and Disney, I just had to break out my Disney/Pixar Cars Cartridge.  I only have two Disney Cricut cartridges, Tinkerbell and Cars and since I made a Tinkerbell card yesterday, I pulled out Cars  for today's project! :)

Here is my shaped card.  Like yesterday, I used my Gypsy to weld the shaped together to form the card base.  If you've ever assembled a Disney Cricut cut, you'll know that there are A MILLION small parts to put together.  I thought that the shape of this card, paired with the Petty Blue base layer was just perfect even without all the tiny pieces. :)

I think this would be a wonderful birthday card for "The King" in your life, but it could also make a terrific Father's Day card too. The card base was cut at 4" and will fit a standard business envelope. The sentiment layer was cut at 2", the racing flags were also cut at 2".

After I assembled the layers I added some gel pen doodling.  Gelly Roll white gel pen was added to the black layers and a black Glaze Gelly Roll added the shine you can see in this picture.

More doodling here.  You can see how I mixed long stitches with some doodle dots. I love doing rougher details on boy cards! :)

I added pop dots under the blue base layer (on to the shadow layer) and under the sentiment layer.

Here you can see how I welded the shapes to form a card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Please take a minute to comment here for your chance to win my blog candy.  Don't forget to leave me a way to get a hold of you if you win! :)

Now, please hop on over to  Tammy's blog @ http://tammyjennings.blogs .... I'm sure she has something wonderful to share!
