Honey Dew card

Here is a "just because" card for my hubby. :)

I saw the challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut.  It's "Melon Time" and I've been seeing all the watermelon projects all over... I really didn't want to do another watermelon card.  

At first, I wanted to make a "Honey Dew" list... then I came up with the sentiment "I appreciate everything my honey dew!" and eventually settled on "I love everything my honey dew!"  So, to do something new, I wanted to cut the Honey Dew from Preserves.  I cut it at 5 1/2".  

Using the Floral font I printed the sentiment directly of the leaf of the honey dew.

I inked the whole card with some black and dark green ink using a finger dauber.  I was trying to get the mottled look of the honey dew skin.  I don't know how well I succeeded, but my honey loved his card... so in that way I did succeed. :)

I accented the card with some white gel pen stitches and flat back self-adhesive black pearls.
