Simple Sunflower card

I have this pretty easy card to share with you today.  The card shape is cut from the Christmas Cards Cricut Cartridge.  I love the shape! I welded two of these together to form the shaped card base measuring 3 1/2" x 6" (I have an overabundance of this size envelopes).
I grabbed a spray of sunflowers at Craft Warehouse.  I got four flowers per bunch for 2/$1. I just cut off the head and a couple leaves and hot glued them to the card base after I added the sheer white ribbon and gel pen stitches.  Three little flat back pearls finish off the flower.

I embossed the sentiment (from Hero Arts, Big Hugs) onto the card.  Here you can see the white sheer ribbon (for Dollar Tree) and some more of the flat back pearls running over the ribbon.

As you can see I used some dark red card stock to cut the card base, I added a white layer of card stock, cut to fit the inside, so I'd have a place to write. The "happy birthday" sentiment stamp is from the same set. More gel pen stitches to match the front, and I am done.  Super simple... but with that HUGE sunflower head, it would have been really easy to go overboard. :)

Wonderful card! Sometimes it's so nice to just take it easy and make a simple, yet beautiful card instead of going overboard. Thanks for sharing! :)

Hi Cheryl Sweetie...
As you will see by my blog, I love sunflowers. This is just the most beautiful thing ever. I love the shape of the card and of course the sunflower just brought it to life. I love the addition of the little embellishments as well. You are such a wonderful artist. Thank you for sharing sweetie. Just gorgeous.

This is the Miracle Weekend makeover. I am one of the hosting sites. For every comment left, Guideposts magazine will pay a dollar, to the next cancer makeover patient. Please stop by and read the story about 9 year old Charlie, and bless me with a comment. Out goal between the 4 or 5 blogs is 5,000. I know we can do it. I would appreciate it, if you pass the word around to as many friends as possible.

Thank you sweetie for a wonderful post. I love it. Have a glorious weekend. Country hugs from Phoenix, Sherry

Very cute card! I love sunflowers. In fact, I have several different sizes that I have plucked off the stems from Dollar Tree. Sometimes they have some nice flowers.
