Plantable Flowers card

Today is another Craft Junkie Too Design Team day. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love being on Tracy's Design Team!! Her awesome assignments are just a small part of it.

The challenge for this week is:
Make a recycled project to honor Earth Day

I made this wonderful top folded A2 card using some handmade seeded paper for the flowers. If you've never made handmade paper, it really is easy and super fun. My kids love to make paper with me.
Here is a You Tube video about how to make your own plantable handmade paper:
I used a recycled picture frame for my deckle and frame.

I stamped the flower stems and leaves using various stamps from my stash (they could even be hand drawn if you don't have these kind of stamps). The flowers were die cut using my Cuttlebug and a set of die cuts from Heartfelt Creations called Posy Patch. This die cut set has a stamp set to go with it... and I just LOVE that!! These are thin dies like Spellbinders and cut wonderful little flowers. I used a ball embossing stylus to add dimension and attached them all together with a brad. The little butterfly is from a Martha Stewart punch.

The flowers and butterfly are attached with pop dots so they can be easily removed for planting. The adorable sentiment is from Hero Art's Big Hugs set.

Here is the inside of the card, it features another sentiment stamp from Hero Art's Big Hugs stamp set. The card base is some lavender Bazzill cardstock.

These are all the directions that I placed inside the card for the person who receives this fun birthday card. It's simple enough to explain how to use the seeded paper and includes a list of the seeds that are embedded inside.

And here are all my scraps of seeded paper from making this card. I am saving all these wonderful seeded scraps to plant in my own garden! Nothing goes to waste and I love that! :)

That's it, please head over to Tracy's blog and see what

Wow, Cheryl, I'm impressed! Seems like a lot of work. What paper is seeded? The flowers? And the white background? If you did all that, you have more patience than me! But your card is beautiful, and it's such a neat thing too that you can plant the flowers to reap real flowers! How ingenious!--Pat

I'd love this card whether it was plantable or not. That it is is a great bonus!
