Shaped St. Patty's Day Card

Today is another Craft Junkie Too Design Team day. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love being on Tracy's Design Team!! Her awesome assignments are just a small part of it. 

 The challenge for this week is:

Green and Gold

(doesn't need to be for St. Patty's Day)

Today I have a wonderful little card to share with you. At the end of this post, I'll share the Cricut Cartridges and stamps I used!

As you can see, this is a pot of gold shaped card. I'm in LOVE with shaped  cards lately!!  

Here is the little leprechaun holding a shamrock.

Here you can see all the stitching I added with my gel pen.

I used my glue gun to attach three little green buttons.

 I think buttons add so much character to cards!

The inside details include a circle of green pattern paper and a couple of gold pieces.

Like the front, the inside got plenty of gel pen stitches.

Supplies:

generic black stock base

green card stock

green pattern paper is from Big Lots

Gold metallic paper is DCWV

Green buttons are from Michaels dollar bins

tan card stock

white crafting string / twine

Scotch Quick Dry Glue

Fall 3-D Wheelbarrow

Today is another Craft Junkie Too Design Team day. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love being on Tracy's Design Team!! Her awesome assignments are just a small part of it.  The challenge for this week is:

Autumn, Fall or Halloween - Not a Card

I love this cute little wheelbarrow!! It measures a WHOPPING 11 3/4"! I inked the edges of the handles, the wheel and the wheelbarrow body too.

I also made a trio of 3-D pumpkins to add. :) The little leaves on the pumpkins are from A Child's Year - cut at 1 1/2" and inked with green and orange ink.

I don't have directions for it, but this is the body of the wheelbarrow.  This is not a 3-D project in the Walk in My Garden Cricut Cart... but I just HAD to make it into this cute 3-D display.

I grabbed this adorable leafy mini garland at Craft Warehouse... so cute! :)

I cut the wheel out of a dark gray color and inked the edges black for depth.  Each side of the wheelbarrow is a total of three thicknesses of cardstock, I also added strength to the front wheel by adding this strip of cardstock.

I also used Popsicle sticks to add strength to the structure. I really wanted this little wheelbarrow to be able to hold quite a lot of weight... I knew what my kids would want to display inside.

And of it loaded down after a trip to the mini pumpkin farm! :)

And this is what my kiddos loaded into the mini wheelbarrow... I just knew it would pay to reinforce it! :)

Fall Leaves Birthday Card

Sorry I have been MIA for a little bit... I've been working on some upcoming blog hop projects and some design team projects too... lots of wonderful projects coming soon!

I love the simplicity of this card. It's an A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") card base.  The yellow base is Bazzill card stock, the black is generic card stock and the patterned paper is from DCWV's new Halloween and Fall Stack.

These leaves are cut from A Child's Year. I cut them at 1 1/2", inked them with a finger dauber and burnt orange ink and added them to the card front with pop dots. I love how the inking really brings out the veins.

Here you can see the Scrappy Mom's Stamped sentiment, the dark orange brads, and a hint of the Pearl Glimmer Mist I sprayed on the patterned paper.

The inside is decorated with scraps of the card front, it even got an extra leaf. 

Of course I had to add some while gel pen doodling.  I've been skipping the gel pen stitching lately and am happy that it made it's way onto this sweet card.

Beach Peek-a-boo cards

Tracy over at Craft Junkie Too is up to it again!! She has asked her design team  to create a project with the fabulous  theme:

Summer Fun!

I don't know about you but Summer is taking forever to get here... I am longing for warm days at the Oregon Coast Beaches!! I decided to take inspiration from the beach and make these fun peek-a-boo cards.

The first card is this fun square scallops card. All cuts are from A Child's year. The card base is created by welding two of the scallop squares together to form the 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" card. The hardest part of the card is laying the front of the card.  I wanted the boy's shadow to be cut out of all three of the card front layers.

I sized the boy's shadow to 3" and had to stack all the layers on my Gypsy so I would be sure that all the shadow layers matched when assembled. To finish off the front of the card I added some white gel pen stitches, brown baker's twine, a button and a couple silver plated charms.

Here you can see the main layer of the boy.  He is glued directly to the inside of the card.  I added a Studio G stamp.  The top layer of the outside and inside of the card are from DCWV's Photo stack (it's beach sand).

Here is a close up of the adorable charms. I picked these up at Michael's for $1.99 each. After I took the pictures, I actually took the starfish off of the first card and added it to the beach scene card.

Here is the second beach scene card.  I sized the umbrella to 4 1/4" (the card base is a standard A2). Again, I had to layer all the mats on my Gypsy so that the peek-a-boo shape matched on all layers.

I added some red/white baker's twine, gel pen stitches and a few red buttons and the front was done.

Here you can see my doodles are a mix of dashes and dots.  I stacked two buttons and laced the twine through the buttons before tying the bow on top. I hot glued all the buttons in place.

Here is the inside of the beach scene card. I just grabbed this $1 Happy Birthday stamp from Joann's.

As you can see, you can write most anywhere on the inside of the card, just not over the die-cut.  I think these turned out great.  I've never made a card like this before, but I've never see anything quite like this either.  I am super pleased with the finished cards.

Happy Mother's Day Card

I love the silhouettes on A Child's Year! They are so simple but beautiful.

The Mother and Child (and the shadow) were cut at 3" to fit on my 3 1/2" x 6".

The card base is craft, the first layer is generic black card stock and the background pattern paper is DCWV The Garden Stack (includes glitter). I added green ink around the edges of this layer and white gel pen stitches to the black layer.

The pink and white twine is from Really Reasonable Ribbon, but you can pick some up in many other online shops like Pink by Design Store, The Twinery and Scrappy Mom's Stamps too.

The "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment stamp is Studio G from last year. I love the dollar bins!! Around here, Michael's dollar bins are pretty empty these days but Craft Warehouse always has wonderful $1 stamps to choose from.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

I am a proud member of Tracy's Design Team over at Craft Junkie Too!! I adore Tracy and her DT assignments are always so perfect.  This week, she asked us to create a project with the theme of:

"Bring on Spring"

How cute is that?? :)

So here is my project. Most of the paper is from DCWV's Flower Shower paper stack (I grabbed it last summer on clearance and have been using it ever since).  Even the sentiment block is from this paper stack! :) The purple metallic paper and purple glitter paper is also DCWV. 

Here you can see the little rain drops that are all over the back ground paper as well as the bigger ones I added. All raindrops are coated with Glossy Accents.

I tied a little bow with the same sheer ribbon I put on the sentiment block.  The umbrella and sentiment block are attached with pop dots to give them lots of dimension.

I just couldn't resist putting my little white gel pen doodles all over the umbrella, sentiment block and around the outside of the card body. I put little self stick rhinestones on the umbrella tips, the bow and the sentiment block too.

When I can't burn the edges of the ribbon to keep them from fraying I use clear nail polish on the ends.  On this kind of sheer ribbon, the lighter burns the ribbon.

The cuts on this card are from the following cartridges:

Card body - umbrella + boxes from Plantin Schoolbook and I welded them together to get the shape of the card body.
