Sailboat card

The new challenge over at Paper Playtime is to "Cool off with Water!" I think it would be a lovely way to enjoy the summer weather by sailing into the sunset.  Here is my take on the challenge. The card shape is from Preserves.  I sized it to be an A2 portrait card.  I just love the shape! :)

This adorable little sailboat is from New Arrival. It's sized to 3 1/2".  All the pieces are cut from scraps. I added some Glossy Accents to the little port-hole windows and attached the boat with pop dots. I added an adorable little red button to the top of the mast.

The clouds are from Everyday Paper Dolls. I sized them at 2", 1 3/4", and two at 1 1/2". I used a finger dauber to ink them in royal blue and "trace" them with some Star Dust Stickles.  I did the same thing to the patterned paper for the sky.

The sun is from Country Life (cut at 2 3/4") and finished off with some dark orange ink (applied with a finger dauber) and Glossy Accents.  The wave are from ZooBalloo (the taller waves) cut at 3/4" and Plantin School Book cut at 1 3/4" and 1 1/4". I inked all those with royal blue ink too.  After layering them on the card front, I applied Stickles too.

The little rhinestones are from Craft Warehouse, the "hello" stamp is from Scrappy Mom's. As a finishing touch, I doodled some stitches using my white gel pen.

Baby Brother Card

I just found out my cousin is welcoming his second little boy to this world in a few days.  I think it's wonderful, the age difference between his two boys will be very close to the gap in my boys! :) This card really reminds me of those times when my boys were little!

Here is the card I made for my cousin and his wife:

The card base is 4 1/2" x 5".  I grabbed the lace-up card base from New Arrival and hid three sides on my Gypsy to get the blue polka-dot base that laces on only one long side. I laced it with a sheer white ribbon and 1/8" satin blue ribbon after I tied the bow with my Bow Easy. The oval is also on the New Arrival cart.

I love these little feet from New Arrival, I cut them at 1" in generic white cardstock.  I inked the edges and popped them up on some pop-dots. I covered them in some Studio G glitter glue for a little sparkle.  I also added the glitter glue to the oval frame around the pencil drawing of the boys.

Here is a close-up of the bow. I placed a simple square button on the top.

I created this cute little banner for my sentiment.  The stamp is from Scrappy Moms. Again, I inked the edges with some blue ink and a finger tip sponge dauber.

I inked the inside too and added two more little (adorable) feet! :)

I adore the image I used.  I drew this back when my youngest was a newborn. I don't draw often anymore but I used to when I was in college.  This one took me some time! I was using a photo as my reference, the picture was taken when my now six-year-old was 4 days old. :)

I scanned this image and printed it on glossy photo paper for this card.

Today, I have a set of adorable baby cards!! I love making baby cards! 

My crafty sister had a baby recently so she hasn't been super productive in the craft space so she asked me if I had any baby cards pre-made.  Well, I didn't! :(  These are the two I came up with for her. It really reminds me of the anticipation when I was pregnant with my boys! I have to say, baby cards are my favorite!

This cute onesie is from New Arrival (cut at 2 1/2"). I added blue glitter gel pen stitches.  I love that little metal sticker on the onesie.  I grabbed it from Joann's on clearance and am almost out!! :(

I cut the hangers out of metallic silver paper and it really compliments the metal sticker. The cute sentiment stamp is from Studio G. 

The inside sentiment stamp is from Scrappy Mom's. I inked all the edges of the card base. I cut the base from Preserves and used my Gypsy to weld it together and to make the coordinating black and pattern paper mats.

Here is the girl version, same stamps as the boy version.

The girl onesie (cut at 2 1/2") is also from New Arrival. I just had to add some white gel pen stitches to the black mat on both cards.

Again, I used Scrappy Mom's stamp to the inside and inked the edges.

Baby Cards

I made these wonderful little baby cards for a challenge over at Sentimental Sundays.  I love their challenge because it really forces you to get sentimental!! :)

The challenge this week is:
Childhood!

I picked the sentiment for these cards first, then I couldn't decide if I wanted to make a boy or girl card so I went ahead and made both!

Onsie cut from New Arrival at 2 1/2"

Here are the buttons I added (from the $1 bin at Michaels)

I added a matching strip of paper on the inside.

Here is the onsie again, I added a metallic
baby face sticker on the front.

Here is the baby girl card.  Again, the onsie was cut at
2 1/2" from New Arrival.

Same buttons, here you can see the metallic hanger I cut.

Again, matching paper on the inside of the card.

Same sticker on the front of the girl card.

I hope you like my cards!! I had a blast making both of the baby cards.
