Tools for the Dad in your life

If you haven't yet, please take a second to enter my 400 follower giveaway!

I have another Cricut-less card to share with you.  AND, this project features a material you are not used to seeing in paper crafts!!! :)  I used aluminium window mesh as a layer on this Father's Day Card.

The brown paper is generic dark brown card stock.
The metal is the aluminium mesh I bought at Lowes.
The Tool paper (and the green is the reverse) is
called "Be a Man" from Creative Imaginations.

I added the mesh layer and the sentiment block with pop dots.  To help hold it all together, I punched holes with my Crop-a-Dile and placed the brad through the tool paper, the brown card stock and the mesh before adding the pop-dots.

Here you can see the mesh better and you get a great look at the silver embossed "Happy Father's Day" layer. You can see that the reverse of the tool paper is green but features these wonderful outlines of tools and hardware. The silver screw brads I used are from Recollections (I grabbed them at Michaels).

When and if you plan to add some of this aluminum mesh to your projects, PLEASE USE GLOVES and a crappy pair of scissors.  My old scissors worked perfectly and I wasn't worries about ruining them but I cut my fingers all up!! I am so glad I don't have the ability to make videos... nobody would want to see my poor hands right now! :)

The inside of the card got scraps to help hold the theme together.  Super simple, it got brown card stock, mesh and the green side of the pattern paper.

I am entering this card into the "Manly" card challenge over at More Than Favors.

Your card is fabulous, but I am sorry to hear about your hands. Why did you do that to yourself?!?! I love those brads that you found. I am going to check for some here.

I am just blown away!!! :) What a great idea to use the metal mesh! It looks great-perfect for the tone of the card! I love the paper and those Phillips head screwdriver brads, too! Amazing!!!!!!!!
