Thanks so much for joining us for the Back to School Blog Hop 2010!
This is my fourth project here at Cards by CG. Today the craft is a Scratch it ticket. If you haven't made your own scratch tickets before.... be prepared to go crazy!!! I know this project is not school themed, but once you learn how to make them, you'll want to whip some up for Halloween, Valentine's Day, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday....
Okay, I started with some images from the web, your photos would work too as well as just a layout, just about anything you can set up for a spot to scratch off.
I took my images and edited them in PhotoShop, added text, text effects etc.

I used at 4" x 6" photo paper, so when I cut it in half, it left me with two projects that measured 4" x 3".
Here is a picture of all the scratch tickets I'll make today (a total of 8).
I cut a card stock mat for each measuring 3 1/2" x 4 1/2". I used glue runner to attach the mats to the scratch tickets. At this time you'll also want to cover the space that will be the scratch off section with a layer of packing tape. I've found that most any brand will work (it just protects the image from being scratched away by overzealous scratchers).
Okay, here is the fun part. To make the scratch off paint, mix equal parts of dish soap with acrylic paints. Here I used orange, but in the past I've used silver and that really looks like a real scratch ticket! :)
You may need two to three coats of paint, just enough to cover up the image under the paint. The thicker your paint starts, the thicker it will stay when mixed with the soap.
Here is the back of my scratch tickets, I stamped the "Trick of Treat" with a Studio G stamps, printed out the candy corn paper (1 3/4" x 3 3/4") from a picture I found online, then I mounted the whole thing on a strip of white paper (2 1/2" x 4").
Whenever I make these scratch tickets, I add a penny to the project with pop-dots!

That's it I hope you like it!
