CJT: Christmas Card Organization Tip

I am a very proud member of Tracy's design team over at Craft Junkie Too.  Tracy asked the design team for this week to share a Christmas Organization tip.  The first thing I could think of was ways to organize all those wonderful Christmas cards you receive this time of year.

Here is how I organize my Christmas cards.

The picture shows a wall tree I picked up at a thrift store years and years ago!! I paid $2.99 for it and it had one string of white Christmas lights on it (and the lights worked too).  Over the years, I've added more lights, garlands, a light-up star topper and little foil streamer ornaments.  I try to keep it decoration light so that it doesn't overwhelm the cards.

For the cards, I tape an ornament hook to the back of the card and simply hang each card like an ornament.  I love adding the cards to the tree as they come and the kids love looking at all the cards as our collection grows!

These are some of the cards we received last year.  As you can see, the tree, lights and decorations show around the cards and become a very nice display that blends in with the rest of our Christmas decorations. You can see my dedication to Tracy's lovely design team... I pulled out this tree, the cards from last year and decorated this tree up just for you.... a week and a half before Thanksgiving!! :)

I found a tree like ours on Amazon for you to get an idea of the kind of tree I use.

Other simple ways to display your cards include attaching them to an arch in your home.  I've taped them to the arch between my living room and dining room in the past. You could use a piece of lattice to hang your cards, or even hang them from a length of string and make them into a garland (or banner).

I hope that gives you some ideas on how to display your cards as a decoration and give them a cherished spot in your holiday decor.

Thanks so much for visiting me here at CardsbyCG.blogspot.com.  I'd love to hear what you think.  Feel free to become a follower or sign up for my email updates (provided through FeedBurner).  I'd love to share my crafting journey with you! - Cheryl

This is such a fabulous and unique way to display cards. I just seen one of these trees at our local Christmas Wonderland. I may have to take another trip out there and give this a try.
