Wedding card

Today I have a couple of wedding cards to share.  I think they are so fun!
Here is how the card looks closed.  It is a standard A2 size (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") when folded. The tux is from Wedding Solutions cart and the wedding dress is a mix of two dresses from Tie the Knot. Both measure 4 1/4" tall.  I welded them to the card base to they can each fold out to revel the second layer of the card.

Here I added some wonderful Heidi Grace paper. It has a black background with some medium gray swirls (that doesn't come out in the picture). I cut the little 1" bells from the Wedding Solutions cart. The "Congratulations!" is from Scrappy Mom's Stamps and it's embossed in white. I love how they are both hidden by the front layer.

Here is the last layer of the card. The black card layer opens up to reveal the sentiment "Wishing you the best, today and always. Congratulations!" in Edwardian Script.

Here is the dress up close. I cut it out of white shimmer card stock.  After embossing it with the Swiss Dots embossing folder, I attached it with quick dry glue and added some liquid pearls and clear Glaze pen accents around the edge of the dress.

The tux also got some clear Glaze pen accents, but I also popped up the lapel and bow tie up on pop-dots.  The shirt layer is cut with some more white shimmer paper. The little buttons on the tux are added with more liquid pearls.

I made a second card that is just slightly different.  On this one, the bride and groom are reversed, so is the "Congratulations!" on the second layer.

Again, I embossed the Scrappy Mom's stamp and added the little bells.

Here is the complete look at the final layer of the card. The card base it cut in Ivory, but it sure looks yellow in this picture. Sorry, today was the last day of school for my kids and I couldn't start crafting until they went to bed.... ie no good lighting for my pictures! :)

"Ooh La La" Birthday card

Today is a Design Team Day over at Paper Playtime! :)  The theme this time is to make a card (or other project) and to include a charm.

I think this card is so fun! I cut the card base from "Tie the Knot".  I won this card from a DT Challenge awhile back but have just started playing with it.  I love this cut!  SO sexy. :)

The card base it cut from cream colored shimmer card stock. All layers are just generic card stock (the pink and black are scraps).

I used my white Gelly Roll pen to add the doodling around the black layer. I really love how it looks with the black stitched ribbon. The Happy Birthday is from Scrappy Mom's Stamps.

I tied the bow with my Bow Easy and used hot glue to attach it to the card base. Here you can see the rhinestone flower I added to the charm wire.  I threaded the wire through the bow before attaching it to the card.

My wonderful charm really is a Frankenstein embellishment! :)
The little flower charm is from a flea market (as is the wire I made the pin from) and the rhinestone flower is from a broken bracelet my sons found at a playground last year.  It was actually a string of these rhinestones, so maybe you'll be seeing more of them in the next few weeks or so. :)

Now, head on over to Paper Playtime and enter in the "use a charm" challenge!

Flip Flops Birthday Card

Hey guys! I have a fun card to share with you today.
Here in the Great Northwest, we are wishing Spring would arrive... we've had one of the wettest and coldest spring weather on record. :(
The summer words background paper is from DCWVs summer stack.

Here is the Scrappy Mom's Stamp I used for the front of the card.  I love the little pink buttons too. Of course I used my white Gelly Roll gel pen to add all the doodling around the flip flops and the case base.

The flip flops are a free svg file I found awhile back. I thought they looked so cute cut in the pink flower paper.  I added some Glossy accents and Star Dust Stickles to the straps. It really gives them excellent dimension. I attached the flip flops to the card base with pop-dots.

Can you see how much they stand out?

The inside of the card got one more Scrappy Mom's Stamp and a white mat. I chose to cut the card base out of craft card stock.  It really reminded me of the sandy Oregon Beaches around here.

The card base and all the layers were cut from Tie the Knot.
