Gift Card Holder *slash* card

Hi everybody, I am on a roll!! Here is another challenge entry.

This time the challenge is over at More than Favors with Paula!  The Wacky Wednesday challenge this week is to create a project that can hold a gift card.

I made this gift card holder like a pocket card.  The cool thing is that instead of just a tag on the inside, there is a card that opens up to reveal the space for a gift card or cash to be slipped in.
Yep, no Cricut used here! :(

Here is the front of the card.  I used Heidi Grace paper and a pink card stock card base.

The pocket part of the card measures 4 1/2" x 11", fold at 5 1/2" and then fold down the flap at 1 1/2".
Patterned paper to decorate the front includes on piece 4" x 4" and one 1 1/4" x 4". I rounded the top corners with my corner chomper. When I sealed the sides of the pocket, usually I'd just use ATG tape, this time I used some foam tape so that it could accommodate the thickness of the gift card without being a tight fit.

The "tag" is a card that measures 5" x 3 1/2" (also with rounded corners) so the patterned paper for this piece measures 4 3/4" x 3 1/4".

The pocket measures 2" x 3 1/4" and is attached with ATG tape on the sides and bottom. You can kind of see that I attached the ribbon tag pull with a backwards brad.  I hid the wings of the brad with my bow on the front of the tag.

I added a little crocheted flower a good friend gave me, added some Queen & Co. pearls to set off the flowers center pearl.  The "Happy, Happy Birthday" and the "Enjoy" is from Scrappy Moms, Simple Sentiments set.

Sentimental Sundays Challenge

Here is my entry for the tag challenge.  I made a pocket card with a super simple tag insert.

I used DCWV Christmas stack from last year for the blue stripy paper and just added some white card stock.  Super simple paper choices!!

Here is the card with the tag insert pulled out.

Here is the sentiment close-up.  It's from Inkadinkado 98412, Christmas Tag Wishes.  I also added three brads to the sentiment.  As you can see from the other pictures, the sentiment sits on the pocket flap.  The flap is up on pop-dots, adding lots of dimension.

This silver snowflake is added to the pull ribbon with a silver brad.  The snowflakes are sequins I picked up at   Joann's.  Sorry, I have no idea the brand, but I got them for .79 cents for 30 of them. They are the same snowflakes I added along the bottom.

Here are the other challenges this card has been entered into:
Stamp Something-Something punchy
Alphabet Challenge- X is for Xmas
Prairie Fairy-Tickets or Tags

Birthday Pocket Cards

Hello to all my blogging friends!!

I just wanted to pop in really quick and share a couple of cards I made today.  Surprisingly, there is no Cricut cuts on either one (actually I made four cards today, none had Cricut cuts).  I know, shocking huh!

Here is one for my Mother-in-Law, her birthday is October 6th.

And here is a card for my Father-in-Law, his birthday is October 8th.

These cards are being entered in the following challenges:
