Flower Card

If you haven't yet, please take a second to enter my 400 follower giveaway!

Janis over at Pause, Dream, Enjoy is having a fun folds challenge.  I've submitting several cards for her challenge (4, so far, I think).  We'll her challenge ends tonight and I left her a comment with the card I linked up today that it would be my last! She responded to my comment with a personal challenge to make just ONE MORE!! :)

Janis, this card is just for you! :)

Here is the front. I kept it super simple... wait until you see the inside!

The Hero Art's sentiment is embossed with white to go along with the white gel pen stitches I added. I used a Bow Easy to tie the sheer ribbon into a wonderful double looped bow.

All the flowers and leaves are from Walk in my Garden. I added some little yellow dew drops to the flower centers. Each flower is two petal layers.

Are you ready for the inside??? It's a tunnel card!! And the best part of all??

Here is the Gypsy file for you to download to make your own:

The card body shape is from Preserves sized to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". The scalloped circle (around the tunnel cut out) is from Accent Essentials. The yellow center of the flower got some Star Dust Stickles too.

I love the two white panels on the sides, it sure leaves you lots of room to add your message to the lucky recipient.

Here is a very dimensional view of a tunnel card.  In this shot you can see how the flower is suspended in the window (I just used some white thread). I would be happy to do a tutorial of a tunnel card if I get enough interest. Please leave me a comment and let me know if that's something you'd like to see.

I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do! :)

Flying Kite Card

If you haven't yet, please take a second to enter my 400 follower giveaway!

I have a super fun card to share with you today!! I made this card that has a moving slider!!  MY FIRST EVER!

Here is my card.  It features Heidi Grace papers (all the pattern papers). Can you see that little pull tab on the top right? Were you wondering what the slit in the clouds is for?? That's my moving parts.  When you pull the tab, the kite flies across the sky!!!

See how the kite moved! I really wish I had the equipment to film this card, it was super fun to put together and to make the parts move!

Here is my simple sentiment.  This card would be great for just about anything! :) I adore that little white flower strip too. It was a wired ribbon (with flowers on both edges) that I cut in half and hot glued to the grass layers.

I used a scrap of wire for the kite string and some orange and green striped twine for the kite ribbons.

Before I forget... here is a free download for you:

Supplies:
Heidi Grace pattern paper
generic green and white card stock
Bridal Inspirations flower ribbon from Joann's
twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon
Studio G glitter glue (for the flower centers)
Floral wire
blue, green and orange ink + daubers to ink all the edges
Cricut and Gypsy

Cricut Cartridges:
Create a Critter : all three cloud styles
Plantin Schoolbook : the rectangle to form the card base

Pink Converse Shoe Card

If you haven't yet, please take a second to enter my 400 follower giveaway!

I have shared a similar card with you in the past, but here is a pink version of my Classic Converse Card I made awhile back.
I used the Paisley Cartridge to make this shoe shaped card.  I used my Gypsy to weld the shape and hide the extra pieces I wan't planning on using. I love this pink flowery paper I cut for the shoe, it's an older paper I grabbed from my scraps so I don't have the name for you! :(

The shadow of the shoe is cut with purple glitter paper from a DCWV stack. I added sheer ribbon and eyelets for the laces on the shoe.  I also remembered to add eyelets for the vents in the shoe (which I forgot last time).

I hand drew all the stitching on this shoe... lots of work but I think it's worth it!

Here is the black on the sole, I had to add this by hand.

Here is my take on the classic Converse star, I used more of the purple glitter paper and added some glittery purple gel pen stitches too.

My first Shutter Card

First of all, thanks for stopping by today,
second... I really think this card need more work. For some reason I am not happy with it, but instead of continue to mess with it (and eventually screwing it up) I am sharing it.

Here is a card I made over the last few days.  It's my very first shutter card.  If you need a tutorial for this card a video really is the way to go.  Just search for "shutter card" on Youtube and you'll be set! :)

Here is the inside, it features all Scrappy Mom's Stamps and some four layer flowers from Walk in My Garden, white gel pen stitching and this paper that has unbalanced blue, yellow and white plaid paper. The yellow stripes are velvet!!

Here are the flowers from the front of the card.  It is a border feature from Walk in My Garden for the tulips (cut at 2 1/2") and I covered the flower heads with the sunflower cut (cut at 1").

Here you can see a better view of the inside.  I added Gelly Roll white gel pen all over the front and inside. The card body is heavy weight card stock from Bazzill.

When I stamped this "So Grateful" stamp I masked off the rest of the stamp that read "for you" to keep with the "Thank you" theme of my card.

Here is a close up of the four layerd flower.  I cut four layers for each of the flowers and stack them up when assmbling them.  I then added some Studio G glitter glue to the centers.

Cartridges used:
Walk in my Garden

Other supplies:
Bazzill card stock
a Martha Stewart punch (sorry I don't remember the name)
Gelly Roll white gel pen
ATG glue runner
Scotch Quick Dry Glue

Bunny Birthday Double Slider Card

I have a slider card to share with you today.  I used a tutorial from a book I have called Interactive Cards from Annie's Attic. I've also seen a video of this style of card here. As you can see I inked all the edges on this card!! I used blue, purple and green for all these fab layers!

Normally you'd have an easy place to add your message, but I filled that up with embellisments so I made the front where the bunny is into a card of its own. The inside sentiment is an old one from Stampin' Up.

You would pull on the ribbon on the top and here is what happens!!

TAAA DAAAA!!

Here is a close up of the bunny. I added a bow I tied in sheer purple ribbon with my Bow Easy. Can you see the double loops in the ribbon?? :) In case you can't see it that well, the top of the slider pops up and says "Hoppy Birthday"...

... and the bottom says "to an awesome chick!" I just thought it was so so cute!

Supplies:
textured purple card stock base
Black card stock
All pattern paper is Heidi Grace
white card stock
Gelly Roller white  gel pen
Pop dots
Scotch Quick Dry Glue
ATG glue runner
Studio G generic glitter glue
 Inside sentiment is Stampin' Up
Sentiments in the circles are computer generated
sheer purple ribbon from Joanns
buttons from Michaels $1 bin
scrap of plastic bag for the slider part

Cricut Cartridges used:
Create Critter for bunny and chick
Plantin Schoolbook for the grass

Baby Card with fun Gift Card Pocket

Hi everybody!! I am so happy you came by today. I have a cute little baby card to share with you.

I love all the little details I added to the little stroller including buttons, gel pen stitching and a cute "Congrats!" stamp.

Here is the inside of the card.  It features what I think is a perfect sentiment for a baby card.

This is the card standing up.  You can see the gift card pocket on the inside.

I added some white gel pen details to the baby's face as well as stamped on the features.

Here is my fancy fold:  I took a 5 3/4" x 10 1/2 sheet of textured card stock.  I scored it at 4 1/4" and at a half inch in each direction to make a total of three score lines and then accordion folded the card base.  This created an "M" fold.  I sealed the two sides closed on the underside and that left just the 'valley' fold on the inside of the card base.

I added a clear plastic badge holder for the gift card pocket (cut to 3" and then punched with a scallop punch.

Here is a view of the empty gift card pocket. You can also see all the texture of the card stock base in this photo.

Supplies:
textured blue card stock base
Black card stock layer
blue polka dot paper is Heidi Grace
blue checkered paper
tan card stock
Gelly Roller white  gel pen
Pop dots
Scotch Quick Dry Glue
ATG glue runner
sentiments are Scrappy Mom's Stamps and Hero Arts
ribbon from Michaels $1 bin
buttons from Michaels $1 bin
Clear plastic badge holders from Dollar Tree 10/$1

Cricut Cartridges used:
Simply Charmed for the baby stroller and baby (3 1/4")

Panoramic Beach Card

Here is a wonderful card I made using a photo I took in January of 2010.  We live in SW Washington and it's a little drive to the Oregon Coast, but it's beautiful there and we try to make the 2 hour drive there a couple of times a year.  One day in early January when the storms make the beach absolutely wonderful, we packed the family up for a day trip.

Here is a close-up of my photo
I made this card large to accommodate the panoramic style I cropped this photo to. The card base measures 4" x 9" and it's also an easel card. I cut the card base from white card stock, but matted the photo on black and then on an embossed stripe and then on Bazzill shimmer blue card stock.

Here you can see the three black eyelets I added to the right side of the card as well as some of the white stitching.  I hand drew the faux stitching using my white Gelly-roll gel pen on the black and blue mats.

This is just the little tab I printed the date on. I ran a scrap of the bazzill card stock threw my printer.  With all the texture in the card stock, the ink didn't show up great but I like the more subtle look and decided to use it anyway.

Here you can see the card when opened up into the easel.  As you can tell, it can stand on it's own.  I LOVE making easel cards! :)

Side view of the easel card.

The only Cricut cuts on here are the sentiment blocks and the mats.  I wanted to make sure the rectangles are STRAIGHT so I used Plantin Schoolbook for the black border mats,  striped mats and the bazzill blue mats.  Simple rectangles, but I can really tell if I cut them off kilter!! :(
