Train Card

Over at Emma's blog, the Throwback Thursday Challenge is to use Paper Doll Dress up or Everyday Paper Dolls and to use some sort of embossing (wet or dry).

The challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut is Neglected CartridgesMake a project using a Cricut cartridge that you haven't used in over 6 months.

Here is my entry for the challenges:

I used the train tracks from Everyday Paper Dolls (cut at 2") and the train from My Community (also cut at 2"). I haven't used either of these cartridges for nearly a year.

As you can see, I went NUTS with the white gel pen! :) I also added "smoke" by sponging on black ink.  I also took a Versa Mark pen and added white embossing powder to the billows of smoke (that traveled up on the top of the card - beyond the top fold).

I cut the wheels with silver textured card stock.  I also used eyelets to add detail.

See? Crazy with the gel pen!! :)

Here you can see the embossed "happy Birthday" sentiment. It's a $1 stamp from Michael's. The silver metallic embossing power really compliments the other elements of the train. I stamped the sentiment on vellum.

Thanks so much for visiting me here at CardsbyCG.blogspot.com.  I'd love to hear what you think.  Feel free to become a follower or sign up for my email updates (provided through FeedBurner).  I'd love to share my crafting journey with you! - Cheryl

I love that train cut. I've used it myself for boy birthday cards. Is there such a thing as going crazy with the while gel pen? I think it looks great! Thanks for playing along with us at FCCB!
