Gift for a teacher : Apple Card Set

Welcome to our Back To School Blog Hop with the
Ginger Snap Scraps Design Team!

If you came from Ann @ November Rose, you are in the right place.
If you just came across this hop and would like to start from the beginning, please go back to

Today I have a card set teacher's gift to share with you.  I made a set of ten of these adorable pieces apple card for my boy's teachers.
I used red, black and white generic card stock, patterned card stock from the DCWV's Grade School mat stack, a Studio G rubber stamp (but any stamp with an outline would work) and some craft string (or twine).  In addition, I cut a box for the set of A2 cards to be gifted in.

The little apples are stamped onto a 2" x 2" piece of white card stock, the black layer is 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" and the red layer is 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".  I stamped the apple onto red polka-dot paper (DCWV, stack 7), brown (for the stem), green (for the leaf) and white (for the apple center).  I cut each of these pieces out so I could glue them together for the finished apple.  It was quite time consuming, but I think they turned out wonderful!!

Here is how they look finished.  I used some Zig precision glue to assemble the apples.

The red card base measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  I wrapped three layers of craft string around the patterned card stock before I used my ATG tape to assemble the card front. I then used my ATG tape to secure the apple layer to the center of the card front.

I made ten cards for each teacher.  Each card has the same apple decoration, but the patterned card stock is all different -- all from DCWV's Grade School mat stack.

I love how they all go together! :)

One last look at the card design. <3 div="div">
I used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More to make the gift boxes (the matchbox on button 43 or page 124). The window is from Just Because Cards. To complete the window, I recycled some Cricut Cartridge packaging!

Here is the Gypsy file for the box.  It is sized to fit the A2 cards with envelopes.

I tied the box closed with some more string and made a little matching tag and voila!  It's done.

Here's the second box, the little frame around the window is different, but everything else is the same.
In case you missed it, here is the download file again:

Being Sick is Ruff!

When I found this pic of such an adorable doggy, I couldn't help but make this card with it! :)
The teal card stock is Bazzill, the black is from my scrap bin. The doggy and sentiment are printed on glossy photo paper.  The scalloped rectangle is from Just Because Cards, they measure 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" and 3 3/4" x 4 1/2". I also added some black ribbon.

The sentiment is 24 point font using CAC Pinafore. I love the cute handwritten style.

I embossed the background paper using the Swiss Dots Embossing folder. I love the texture it adds as well as helping it stand out from the rest of the teal paper.

Of course, the inside got some matching paper too.

You're a Peach card set

I love a good set of note cards, how about you? I love that they are small, a quick note will fill the inside and it can be dropped into a gift, an order etc.  And these note cards are no exception.
These little note cards measure 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" All the pieces are from my scrap bin. The little peach is from Just Because Cards - cut at 2 1/4".  I inked around the edges of the peach and the card base.

I covered the leaves with Studio G Glitter Glue (clear) and added this adorable Peachy Keen face from the Wide Eyed Kids set ( 1 1/8" face) and gel pen accents with some pink chalk for the cheeks.

Each note card has the same sentiment inside - printed using Expose font at 36 points. Again, I inked around the card base with orange ink and a finger dauber.

Here is my adorable card set. I made a total of eight of these super cute cards.

Christmas in July

Are you ready for Christmas.... in July, that is! :)
Here is my very first Christmas card for the year! It's a winter scene card with a pickup taking home a beautiful Christmas tree! I cut the pickup from Just Because Cards at 5" (all layers including the shadow) using the flip feature.  The truck is completed with silver mirror paper for the hub caps, door handle and fenders. Then I cut the Christmas tree at 3" from Doodlecharms (including the shadow layer).

I added glitter to the truck top and the tree to represent a fresh winter snowfall.  Then I added the "Christmas is on its way!" embossed in black.  The stamp is a couple years old so I don't know if you can still get it or not, but it's from Inkadinkado # 97734 - Warm Holiday Wishes.

And lastly, I added some white "stitching" using my Gelly Roll pen.

Have an Udderly Amazing Day!

I pulled out the My Pink Stamper Punny-licious stamps today. Here is the cute card I came up with! :)
The cow is cut from From my Kitchen at 2 3/4", the cow bell and collar are from Just Because Cards (the sheep button) cut at 7".  I mounted her up on pop dots.

The sentiment is from two different stamps from My Pink Stampers Punny-licious set.

I doodled all around the card (including ON the cow).  The border punch is called Effervesce by Fiskars. I also added two lengths of 1/8" red gros grain ribbon... I wanted a thicker band of ribbon but didn't have thicker red ribbon.

I added a little more patterned paper (from DCWV, Stack 7).  I love this plaid paper, it reminds me of a picnic table! :) I hope you like this card as much as I do.
